Abstract
In this study, the indicators affecting Poplar cultivation in Ardabil province were investigated and then strategies for the development of Poplar wood cultivation in this area were determined. The study was conducted by field method and with the utilization of a combination of SWOT and QSPM matrices in the form of Delphi method. The statistical sample of the research included 43 experts and specialists. Based on the results, in the SWOT matrix, 29 strength and weakness indicators and 29 opportunity and threat indicators were identified in relation to the development of poplar wood cultivation in Ardabil province. According to the total final scores (IFE: 2.625 and EFE: 2.133), the decisive strategies for the development of poplar cultivation include competitive strategies (ST). In examining the importance of the selected strategies in the QSPM matrix, the design strategies of the system for determining the raw materials needed by the wood industries of the province and attracting investment from the owners of the industries for planting Poplar (ST1:5.83 ), supporting the operational implementation of the research projects carried out in the field production and supply of high-yielding poplar cultivars and modern and agricultural irrigation (ST2:5.79) and the creation and development of various support organizations to provide the inputs needed by poplar cultivators (ST5:5.74), in the first to third priorities were placed.
